Tashia Zeigler grew up in Savannah, GA and Charlotte, NC. She knew she wanted to be a lawyer when she was a kid—what better way to combine a desire to help people with the love of debate? After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Ms. Zeigler attended North Carolina Central University School of Law in Durham, NC. During her last summer as a law student, Ms. Zeigler clerked for the Governor’s Office of Consumer Affairs (later the Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection and now the Consumer Protection Unit of the Georgia Department of Law). It was during this clerkship that Ms. Zeigler realized that her calling in life was to be a consumer protection attorney.
Ms. Zeigler accepted a position with the Office of Consumer Affairs as a Staff Attorney. After 5 years as a staff attorney, Ms. Zeigler was promoted to the Director of the state’s Lemon Law and Dispute Resolution Division. There, she oversaw the mediation and Lemon Law programs. Ms. Zeigler now practices as a consumer advocate and small business legal advisor.
Tashia Zeigler is dedicated to giving back to her community. She is an active member of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s Atlanta Affiliate. She has served on the Community Service Committee with the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys. Dedicated to issues affecting children, Ms. Zeigler regularly participates in book and clothing drives that benefit the youngest members of our society.
Ms. Zeigler lives in Buckhead with Roderic, their son Jeremy, and their two Chihuahuas, Viva and Las Vegas.
